April 8- Genesis 3:6-10

What is the difference between being God and being like God?
Are there some things that are worth not knowing?
What is the difference between guilt and shame?
How does sin keep us longer than we planned on staying, and cost us more than we are willing to spend?

April 9- Psalm 139:1-6

If God knows us better than we know ourselves, what is our response?
Can we really avoid or hide from God?

April 10- Psalm 139:7-12

If we cannot hide from God, why do we try?
How does guilt make us want to hide and avoid relationships with others and with God?

April 11- Psalm 139:13-24

Do we delight in God’s knowledge?
If we are fearfully and wonderfully made, how should we treat ourselves and others?

April 12- Jonah 1:1-9

Is each step we take away from God, one step closer to spiritual death and separation from God?
Is there something you are running away from and you think anything would be a better option?
Are there times when the “pagans” respond to God better than we do?

April 13- Ephesians 5:1-6

Why don’t sin and God mix together?
What are those areas in your life that you have a hard time repenting of and turning from?
Is your allegiance to yourself, God, or others?

April 14- Ephesians 5:8-13

How do we use discernment to apply Gods truth to our lives?
If we have to keep our words and actions hidden, are they really worth saying or doing?

This is the last message of our sermon series called “Flipped”. In it we have looked at Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. That message turned the world upside down! As we draw to a close, Jesus challenges us to make a choice. Do we want to follow the crowd along the wide and easy road towards destruction? Or, are we willing to do the heavy lifting in our own spiritual lives to stay on the narrow path? This is the way that leads to life. It is not the easy path, but it is the path that brings the greatest joy. Join us as we decide which path to take.

This is week 5 of a six week series called “Flipped”. In it, we are looking at the Sermon on the Mount, and how Jesus turned the world upside down with it! Today we examine materialism. Sometimes it’s wanting to keep up with the Jones’s. Other times we are searching for security and think possessions can bring it. But, ultimately only Jesus gives us what we most need. And our relationships are the second greatest gift from God.

In this message we will look to one aspect of giving found in the Sermon on the Mount. Lord willing, this can give us wisdom to help discern how God is leading us in our own acts of charity.
